How powerful is 1/200th of a second? A new parents loving glance, a baby's first toothless grin, a toddler's unsure steps, all seem so simple and everyday. All too quickly these moments slip by. It is my honor and pleasure to be able to preserve these moments, tell your story, and create your family's most treasured portrait heirlooms.
My name is Lori Kenney and photography has always been a part of my life. I can recall the first image that I ever captured on my brother's Yashica camera. I was probably around 4. It is a vivid memory because my brother had just gotten back from Vietnam. Yes, I know I am dating myself! I was 8 when I got my own camera and 11 when I made the conscious decision that I would become a photographer. After graduating with a BA in Fine Art Photography, life led me down a slightly different path. While still photography had always been my focus, I was given the opportunity to work as a photojournalist at a television station here in Milwaukee. It was after years of having the privilege of capturing people's stories through moving images that I realized I wanted to return to telling a story one image at a time.
I have had the pleasure of having my work in many various media outlets including ABC World News, Lifetime, Metroparent Magazine, Lake Country Magazine, and M Magazine to name a few. It has also been my honor to have been nominated for an Emmy, won numerous awards from the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association, Milwaukee Press Club, Associated Press, Wisconsin Professional Photographers Association and South Eastern Wisconsin Photographers Association.
To stay current with the most progressive photography innovations I am a proud member of the following organizations: Professional Photographers of America, on the Board of Directors for Wisconsin Professional Photographers Association (WPPA), and on the Board of Directors for the South Eastern Wisconsin Photographers Association.
